In June, Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity (NCHFH) held an appreciation and awards dinner to thank its volunteers from the past year, who logged a total of 22,751 hours. Those with 500 or more hours received the Presidential Service Award. The Newnan Church of Christ provided event space, an anonymous volunteer donated the catering, and local businesses contributed items for door prizes. Almost 100 of the volunteers attended.

“Volunteers are the lifeblood of Habitat for Humanity, and the dinner is our way of saying ‘thank-you’ to them,” notes Melanie Frazier, Volunteer Coordinator. In addition to working on the famous builds, volunteers help with every aspect of NCHFH, such as office work, the ReStore, and community outreach. For more information, call Frazier at 770-252-9049, ext. 14.
