This year’s 5K Run From Domestic Violence will be held Friday, September 28. All proceeds from the event will go towards the Promise Place Emergency Shelter and Home for victims of domestic violence.

Domestic abuse occurs at all levels of society. Victims flee, in most cases with little or no possessions, and need immediate shelter and protection.

Promise Place offers a safe environment for victims and their families utilizing legal advocacy, emergency shelters, and transitional housing. They also provide awareness programs and education including the Teen Dating Violence Prevention Program which reaches out to at-risk teens.

The annual Run From Domestic Violence is the group’s largest fundraiser of the year. This year it will be on Friday evening, Sept 28 at City Hall in Peachtree City. Registration begins at 5:00 pm and the race starts at 6:00 pm.

Register to run/walk or become a sponsor at www.promiseplace.org or call 404-981-1969.
